Ian Lamont

Hi, I'm Ian, a software engineer from Philadelphia, PA. I like creating software that's fast, efficient, and gives me control of my machine. I often sit at the software-hardware interface, taking advantage of every byte of memory and every instruction cycle. When working at a higher level, algorithmic efficiency and speed dominate my practice. Some of my projects include: hand-written GPU kernels, designing a pipelined RISC-V CPU, co-building an operating system, and building a distributed webmail and cloud-storage system. Beyond programming I have a passion for physics and engineering, and love making art. I'm always thrilled to talk about any of these topics, please reach out!
